Pearl Harbor tickets and rules in 2026

No circle island tour stops at Pearl Harbor, so most visitors give it its own morning. Here is how the USS Arizona Memorial tickets, bag rule and boat schedule work this year.

Entry to Pearl Harbor National Memorial is free. The boat out to the USS Arizona Memorial is not a free-for-all, though: it runs on timed reservations, 1,800 a day, and bags are not allowed.

December 2026 brings the 85th anniversary of the attack. Here are the 2026 rules from the National Park Service and what a coach tour handles for you.

The quick answer

USS Arizona Memorial reservations are on Recreation.gov, released daily at 3 p.m. Hawaii time, 8 weeks and 24 hours ahead, with a $1 non-refundable fee per ticket. Bags are not allowed; storage near the entrance costs $7 per bag. The circle island tours do not stop at Pearl Harbor, so book it as a separate half day.

How do I get USS Arizona Memorial tickets in 2026?

Through Recreation.gov. Reservations open daily at 3 p.m. Hawaii time in two windows: 8 weeks ahead and 24 hours ahead.

The National Park Service program page sets the rules. You can reserve up to 10 tickets per day, infants and small children included, and Recreation.gov charges a $1 non-refundable fee per ticket. Reservations are final: they can't be changed or refunded.

The program itself is free and lasts about 45 minutes: a safety talk, the boat ride, 10 to 15 minutes on the memorial and the ride back. Boats leave every 15 minutes, from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Can I get standby tickets at Pearl Harbor?

Yes, but the odds are low. The park says only 8 to 10% of visitors get on as standby, after waits of 1 to 3 hours.

Standby works through sign-up tablets at the visitor center, with a callback when a seat opens. The park's own "Plan Like a Park Ranger" page puts the odds at 8 to 10% and the wait at 1 to 3 hours. With a reservation, arrive an hour early so you don't miss your boat.

One more thing to know: boats can be suspended, changed or cancelled in high wind or rain, according to the hours page.

What is the Pearl Harbor bag policy?

No bags: backpacks, purses, camera bags and large handbags stay out. Storage near the entrance costs $7 per bag, $10 for oversized bags.

The park's basic information page bans bags at the memorial. The Battleship Missouri Memorial's bag page gives the storage details: storage is to the right as you enter the memorial grounds and costs $7 per bag and $10 for oversized bags or luggage.

Leave the bag at the hotel and bring just your phone and wallet.

What are the opening hours and costs at Pearl Harbor?

The visitor center is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Thanksgiving, 25 December and 1 January. Entry is free; parking is $7 a day.

The NPS hours page lists those three closed days. A 23-minute film plays at a quarter past and a quarter to each hour, from 7:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. There is no entrance fee for the memorial, visitor center, museums or grounds. Driving yourself? Parking is $7 per day, paid by app or QR code.

What happens at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 2026?

The 85th anniversary falls on Monday, 7 December 2026. The park holds a commemoration every year; the 2025 program ran from 7:50 to 9 a.m.

For the 84th anniversary, the National Park Service held its commemorative program on 7 December from 7:50 to 9 a.m. Hawaii time, with gates opening at 6 a.m. The 2026 schedule has not been published yet; watch nps.gov/perl.

Coming that week? Book in the 8-week window rather than hoping for a 24-hour or standby seat.

Is a Pearl Harbor coach tour easier than going yourself?

For many visitors, yes. The Pearl Harbor coach tour includes National Park fees and Waikiki pickup, and the driver handles the timing.

The Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorial and Honolulu tour picks up at Waikiki and Ala Moana stops between 7:55 and 8:40 a.m. The listing includes all taxes, National Park fees and handling, bottled water and commentary on the drive past downtown sights such as Iolani Palace and the King Kamehameha statue. Food and gratuities are extra, and the listing names a $1.57 fee for the film and the shuttle to the memorial that is not included. Upgrades add the Battleship Missouri or the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum.

One rule surprises people: the Park Service only lets tour guides do wayfinding inside the park, not interpretation. Pearl Harbor is not on the Grand Circle Island tour, so plan it for another day.
