Booking choice: The Grand Circle Island tour, from $100 per person, half day. Check dates Tour details
Hanauma Bay and Diamond Head show up in nearly every circle island tour description. Both run on timed reservations for non-residents, both charge visitors a fee, and neither fits into a tour that spends 10 or 20 minutes at a stop.
Here are the 2026 rules from the City and County of Honolulu and Hawaii State Parks, plus the one fee you meet if you drive the Pali yourself.
The quick answer
Hanauma Bay costs non-residents $25 plus an online fee, children 12 and under enter free, and bookings open two days ahead at 7 a.m. Hawaii time. It is open Wednesday to Sunday only. Diamond Head costs $5 per person plus $10 per car for non-residents, booked up to 30 days ahead. No circle island tour on this site goes into either: the Grand Circle Island tour drives past both.
How much does Hanauma Bay cost for visitors in 2026?
$25 per non-resident, plus an online fee. Children 12 and under are free, and parking for non-residents is $3.

How do Hanauma Bay reservations work?
Online at pros.hnl.info, two days in advance, from 7 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time. Up to 5 non-resident adults and 5 children per booking.
Bookings open at 7 a.m. two days out, so set an alarm for Hawaii time, not your home time zone. One booking covers up to 5 adults and 5 children.
There are two other routes. About a quarter of the daily capacity goes to walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 6:45 a.m. And Roberts Hawaii sells round-trip transport from the Ala Moana and Waikiki area bundled with entry, bookable up to a month ahead.

What does Diamond Head cost, and do I need a reservation?
Yes, non-residents must reserve. Entry is $5 per person and parking $10 per vehicle, booked up to 30 days ahead.
Hawaii State Parks charges non-residents $5 per person and $10 per vehicle, and requires entry and parking reservations. The Go State Parks booking page opens slots up to 30 days in advance, and you must arrive within the first 30 minutes of your slot or risk being turned away without a refund. The park is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The last reservation is 4 p.m., with last entry at 4:30.
The hike is short and steep: 0.8 mile from the trailhead to the summit, gaining 560 feet, with stairs and a lit 225-foot tunnel. The park says to allow 1.5 to 2 hours. Bring water and a hat.

Do circle island tours go into Hanauma Bay or up Diamond Head?
No. The Grand Circle Island tour drives past both, and the tours that list Diamond Head stop for 10 to 20 minutes, too short for the summit hike.
The Grand Circle Island tour passes Diamond Head Beach Park, Kahala and Hanauma Bay before its first stop at the Halona Blowhole, about 10 minutes. Several other tours list a Diamond Head State Monument stop: 20 minutes on the grand tour with snorkeling and the Hidden Gems tour, 10 minutes on the turtle snorkel tour and the Premium small-group tour. With the park asking hikers to allow 1.5 to 2 hours, treat any of these as a photo stop, not a hike.
Want the crater or the reef? Do them on a separate morning. Hanauma's last entry is 1:30 p.m., and a full circle tour leaves Waikiki around 7 a.m. and returns in the late afternoon. They don't mix on the same day.

The full circle from $140: Halona Blowhole, the Pali Lookout, Byodo-In and Haleiwa, with Diamond Head and Hanauma Bay from the bus window.
Explore the Grand Circle Island tour Tour detailsWhat do I pay at the Pali Lookout if I drive myself?
$7 per vehicle for non-residents. Residents park free, and the lookout is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
The Nuuanu Pali State Wayside is the lookout over the windward coast where the Grand Circle Island, Majestic and Premium tours stop. On a tour the stop is part of the ticket. In a rental car you pay $7 per vehicle at the lot, which is one of the costs the self-drive guide adds up.

Were the parks closed after the 2026 storms?
Some state parks closed during the storms. Hawaii State Parks is refunding reservations for closure days automatically.
An update dated 27 August 2026 on the Diamond Head page says anyone holding a state park reservation for a day that was part of a storm-related closure gets an automatic refund, minus the non-refundable service charges, and that it can take 4 to 6 weeks to show on your card. Check the park page a day before your slot if a storm is forecast.
